Two Greenville, South Carolina sheriff's deputies were suspended after one of them accidentally shot the other in the foot during a February training session. 

"L.A. COUNTY SHERIFFS POINT GUNS AT THREE BLACK TEENS"

The two were participating in an exercise hosted by a neighbouring sheriff's office that involved firing blank rounds. During the exercise, one of the deputies fired a blank in the direction of the other. The second deputy, who had switched his training firearm for his service weapon, then fired his weapon, hitting his colleague in the foot. The deputies were suspended with pay for 10 days and will undergo remedial training on proper firearm handling while on duty.
