Blaine Gabbert, a quarterback for the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, reportedly played a key role in the rescue of a family that had crashed their helicopter into the water in Hillsborough Bay near Tampa on Thursday. Gabbert, along with his brothers, used their jet skis to bring the family to safety after hearing a faint noise and finding the helicopter rapidly sinking in the water. The family had been forced to make a crash landing in the water. Gabbert, who is a backup to Tom Brady on the Buccaneers, described the incident as a "crazy" experience.
