Juliet, a cat brought to a South Carolina animal hospital, is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery to remove 38 hair ties from its stomach. The Charleston Animal Society reported that Juliet was brought in by a member of the public who had found the cat outside a home after the previous residents had moved out of state. As Juliet began to show signs of lethargy and stopped eating, the caretakers decided to perform a radiograph, which revealed an unusual blockage in the cat's stomach. Upon further investigation, the surgical team at the animal hospital was shocked to find that the blockage was caused by the ingestion of 38 hair ties. Leigh Jamison, the associate director of veterinary care at the Charleston Animal Society, described the incident as "unusual."
