Subject: Fw: Dolly Parton created the Imagination Library that sends one free book per month to a child
In 1995, Dolly Parton launched an exciting new effort, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee, USA. Dolly's vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month. By mailing high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, she wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, she could ensure that every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income.

This is another reason to like and respect Dolly Parton. Her Imagination Library is a wonderful gift to children, and now she's helping those whose lives have been turned upside down by the fires.
How can we give back?
There are so many expectant and new moms that I know would love this. Dolly Parton created the Imagination Library to promote early childhood literacy. She does this by giving {completely FREE} books to children birth to 5 years. You get a book a month until your child turns 5.
Research just in from the USA showing how Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is creating positive literacy behaviors. We're proud to be expanding this program to reach families across Australia. 44,000 books and counting!
Currently, more than 80% of Tennessee’s 375,000 children under age five have access to the program. The total cost of the program is only $27 per child, per year, which includes 12 hardcover books, postage, shipping and handling, and reflects absolutely no administrative overhead costs.
